What’re we trying to do with the Elephant anyway

What’re we trying to do with the Elephant anyway? Well...
1 - We’re trying to stabilize our pelvis, spine and arms as we push the carriage out with our legs.
2 - stretch your calves by digging your heels into the carriage and lifting your toes up.
3- Round your spine, keep your arms straight and pull your lower abdominals deeply in. Resist the springs to bring the carriage back in.
It’s a great exercise to practice what’s mobile and what’s stable. The whole upper body should be stable, while the lower body is mobile, pushing the carriage out and in. Check out the whole video on Pilatesology.
